NAHETS-Matt Klabacka

Matt Klabacka

Chairman and Principal

Matt Klabacka is chairman and principal of NAHETS. After recognizing a lack of licensure requirement for equipment operators, he founded NAHETS in 2006 to create an educational organization dedicated to heavy equipment operator training programs.

Matt comes from a family tradition of offering quality construction related training programs, as his father, Robert Klabacka, founded the National Institute of Concrete Construction in 1959. Before founding NAHETS, Matt worked at ATS-USA, LLC helping in the creation and organization of three construction schools.

Matt received his masters in education and his bachelors of science degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is the founder of NAHETS’ three member schools: Northern California College of Construction, Oklahoma College of Construction, and Georgia College of Construction. Matt also founded and is the former president of Heritage College in Las Vegas, Nev. He was an accreditation team leader for Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges for four years, an invited guest speaker at “Focus 1996″ in Moscow, Russia, and past president of the Nevada Private School Association. A family and community man, Matt is a little league baseball coach, high school golf coach, and Boy Scouts of America volunteer.

NAHETS-Garry Hayes

Garry Hayes

Principal

As principal for NAHETS, Garry Hayes is an attorney practicing in Nevada. Garry is a native Nevadan and worked for many years in the family construction business. He received his law degree at Brigham Young University and is a member of the Clark County Bar, the Nevada State Bar, and the Preservation Association of Clark County. Garry was honored with the Martindale Hubbell AV Rated award, he was voted as one of the Best Lawyers in America 2011 and as Super Lawyer 2012.

NAHETS-Bob Albano

Robert Albano

Chief Operating Officer

As chief operating officer for NAHETS Robert Albano is responsible for day-to-day operations of the organization and implementing strategic goals and objectives.

Robert has three decades of experience in the heavy construction materials and heavy civil construction industries. Prior to joining NAHETS, he was president and chief operating officer of the American Asphalt & Grading Company, president of Rinker Materials West, LLC, vice president of Rinker Group, LTD., general manager of Lone Star Industries and general manager and board member of I.C. Materials, Inc.

In addition, Robert served as president of the Southern Nevada Concrete & Aggregates Association, co-chairman of Concrete-Pac of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, co-founder and board member of the Argenta-Oreana, Illinois Citizens Advisory Committee and board member with the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, Clark County Public Education Foundation and Safe Nest domestic violence shelter. He is the recipient of the Grass Roots Activist of the Year from the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and volunteer of the year from the State of Illinois School Association.

Robert went to school at Purdue University, Franklin College and Eckerd College Leadership Development Institute.

NAHETS-Jarad Wagoner

Jarad Van Wagoner

Director of Development

As the director of development for NAHETS, Jarad Van Wagoner is responsible for implementing the company’s business plan and marketing national heavy equipment certification directly to construction, mining, manufacturing, and energy industry experts and instructors to provide training services.

Formerly, Jarad served eight years in the US Air Force, obtaining the rank of captain. As a foreign area officer he served as deputy director of the office of international programs, escorting United States cadets throughout central Asia and Europe. Jarad also was a course director where he developed curriculum and assessments and taught Russian and political science.

As a research fellow for the Naval Postgraduate School Program for Culture and Conflict Studies, Jarad conducted anthropological and cultural research on Afghan tribe and clan networks. He also conducted significant research in security incidents in Afghanistan and negotiated and executed contracts and memorandums of agreement with foreign ministries, militaries and private companies.

Jarad received a bachelor of arts degree in finance at Utah State University and a masters in national security affairs – Russia/Eurasia from the Naval Postgraduate School.
